2010 World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims

Greetings. On behalf of members and volunteers of the PATVORA Initiative, member of the WHO network of road safety NGOs, I express great thanks again over your great efforts in effectively co-ordinating global activities of the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims in the past years. For us at PATVORA, the year 2009 was outstanding because it was our best organized activity since our participation in the Global Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims. Indeed, your encouragement has been a major source for our success and improvement.

Once again, as we prepare for the year 2010 World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims, I want to use this opportunity to congratulate all the organisations that have been at the forefront in championing NGOs involvement in major global events of the UN/WHO collaboration on road safety like an important event as the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims. Our special thanks are for RoadPeace, Association for Safe International Road Travel (ASIRT) and the European Federation of Road Traffic Victims (FEVR).

In conducting activities to mark the 2010 World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims, which coincidentally comes at the dawn of the UN Decade of Action on road safety 2011-2020, I wish to inform you that the  PATVORA Initiative as an NGO Signatory to the commitment plan by Nigeria Government  towards activating the United Nations decade of action on road safety (20ll - 2020) is most willing to utilize its new status to conduct activities that will expand the visibility and importance of World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims in Nigeria.

The Co-ordinator,

PATVORA Initiative

24 Ojugbana Drive,

P.O.Box 505, Asaba, Delta State, Nigeria.
