ACTION PROGRAMME of Road and Safety Association
„Road crashes – let’s talk”. 2009 edition of nationwide action at schools
1. Informing the participants about the planned activity, placing the materials on the Association’s website to inspire and organise the action at schools.
2. Suggesting pupils, teachers and headmasters earlier preparation for effective performance of the action planned to be held on the 18th November 2009. Invitation and preparation of interviews with road accident victims and founding the graves of people who died in crashes. Searching among friends and acquaintances for people who have been directly or indirectly affected by accidents, every time asking for their consent.
3. Familiarising ourselves with materials concerning statistics and social costs of accidents (they will be placed on the Association’s website). Individual preparation of findings by pupils on the basis of statistical data to be discussed in class among children.
4. Launching a competition for individuals to design the action’s logo (pre- and high schools).
5. Teachers will conduct at least one hour long discussion in class on the 18th November, preferred form: spontaneous discussion in connection with the major subject, details according to the headmasters’ and teachers’ scenario. Commemorating road crash victims with a minute’s silence.
6. Realization of the undertakings accompanying the action: celebrations, appeals, competitions, shows, meetings, rescue teams shows, visiting the graves of victims, lighting candles, etc.
7. Preparing school newsletters dedicated to the action beforehand.
8. Drawing up reports, writing down appeals and reflections by pupils to adults, individually or in groups.
9. Submitting ready materials to the organiser, according to the regulations of the action.
10. Informing parents about discussions held and about the conclusions drawn up from children’s discussions.
11. Announcing the list of winners.
12. Thanking patrons for support, schools and teachers for their involvement, but first of all pupils for their engagement. |
