November Is Road Safety Month in BarbadosTo continue the fight for safer roads in Barbados, The Barbados Road Safety Association is recognising November as 'Road Safety Month' in Barbados with a focus on vulnerable road users.
This decision was made since the beginning of November precedes two of our major festive seasons and it also coincides with "World Remembrance Day For Road Traffic Victims", which is globally recognised and observed on the third Sunday of November.
The Barbados Road Safety Association has planned a number of activites for the month, including a walk for safety, the placing of road side memorial markers at the site of fatalities, a 'Sagicor car check day' and a radio program where you will hear from the victims and their families.
'World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Accident Victims' will be observed on Sunday 21st November with a church service and a 'Wall of Remembrance'. The month opens with a church service at the Nazarene Church in Collymore Rock at 8.00am and all are invited to attend. The BRSA invites the public of Barbados to join them in all the activities.
Over the last decade an average of 28 persons died on our roads every year.
Mums and Dads, Children, Grand parents, Husbands and wives Co-workers, Students and Friends ….. They were all special to someone….
Their deaths could all have been prevented
